Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, goes to say that beauty can be tough. Spending time in God’s presence makes us beautiful inside and out. So many times we spend several hours fixing up the outer appearance but the inside is ugly. We spending so much time and money what makes us look good on the outside. I’m not saying to let yourself go, but spend more time in God’s word and in His presence in worship so He can beautify you from the inside out.
1 Peter 3:3-4 Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes.
What I’m saying is we must not spend so much time of adorning our outer appearance and our hearts, character and attitudes are jacked up. We look so pretty on the outside but our character and attitudes are nasty. I remember growing up as a teenager and in my earlier twenties, I would spend several hours in the mirror putting on make-up and adorning myself with beautiful clothing, jewelry, and my hair was always done. At that time my attitude was very nasty towards others, I was rude and full of pride and vanity. I thought my beauty on the outer appearance would attract anything I wanted. Not so…. Growing and maturing more in God allowed me to see that my heart, character and attitude towards others was not matching up with His Character. He spoke to me having the fruit of the spirit and love makes you beautiful. Having good character is something that you hold fast inside that people see in you on the outside.
Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.
Ephesians 4:2 Be completely humble and gentle, be patient bearing with one another in love.
There is a time in season for everything and God makes things beautiful in His timing. We must submit ourselves to the father to make our personality and character to made beautiful in His timing. It takes time and a process. Be patient!
Ecclesiastes 3:1 To everything there is a season.
Be Blessed and know you are being processed to become simple beautiful inside and out for His glory and purpose 🙂
