Embracing Your Uniqueness

Hello Beautiful woman I would like to encourage you of becoming a woman of embracing your uniqueness in your own skin.  You are beautiful in your own way.

So many times, we look in the mirror and try to be like the other individual that is around or next to us.  We desire to be like the next super model applying all kinds of make-up, stressing out about what size or weight we should be. We all were created to be different from another. If everyone looked the same, we would not be different from one another. There was a point of time in my life where I truly wasn’t okay nor secure in embracing my uniqueness. There were times I hated how I looked in the mirror because I felt I wasn’t beautiful like the models on television and the girls in the magazines. I based my confidence not only through looking at the women in the magazines but also by what other people thought of me and how they viewed me. I tried several times to imitate the women in the magazines and on television. Until one day I looked in the mirror with all my clothes off and said to myself “you are beautiful and unique in your own way! “I started reading books on self-confidence and identity. I had measured my confidence and identity to the women that were in the media and that created a false self-image.  I truly believe when we get to that point of “enough is enough,” look in the mirror and speak life to who we are is when true confidence in self will be developed. I had gotten to a place where I was sick and tired of comparing myself with others. I started to prepare and take more responsibility in my confidence level.

What I’m trying to say is you may not be the young lady with the beautiful long hair, flawless make-up or a size 2. Embrace your body. You only have one body here on this earth. Don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with self-improvement but be confident in the skin that you are in and embrace your body type. There are several ways to dress for your body type and to enhance your natural beauty. Pinterest is one of the tools I used to help me to embrace my look. I started looking at different ideas and inspiration to help me dress for my body type and to enhance my personal look. The FIRST and MOST important thing that I did before updating my personal look was to start affirming myself with positive words of affirmation and reading books. This is important because it will help you to first speak life over yourself, boosts your confidence & self-esteem and stops all the negative self-images. Beauty doesn’t come from the outer appearance it shines first within. You can have the most beautiful clothes, make-up and hair slayed but if your spirit is ugly you are not beautiful. You may have a pretty face, nice clothes, but you are a jacked-up woman on the inside with low self-esteem. I encourage you to dig deeper from within, look in the mirror and speak over yourself. It’s okay to take your clothes off and look at yourself in the mirror. It allows you to see how beautiful you are no matter what your body type may be.

Be encouraged and know we all are created in a beautiful image and what makes us different makes us wonderful and unique.
